Maypearl suffers first lost against state-ranked Clifton

Maypearl had no answers for the ninth-ranked Clifton Cubs on Friday in a 45-0 road loss. 

Clifton outgained Maypearl 543 total yards to 175 in the victory. 

The (2-1) Maypearl offense gained 134 of its yards on the ground, led by Cam Chapman (9-34), Jaxson Emerton (9-40) ad Grant Hamby (8-45). 

Chapman also led the Panthers defense with a team-high 10 total tackles, while Cooper Maxwell (9), Patrick Nulisch (8) and Lex Lewis (8) also contributed.

Maypearl will look to bounce back at home against (2-1) Fort Worth Christian. Kickoff for the non-district game is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
