Who will be the week 7 Ellis County Sports Sports Player of the Week?

Gage Mayfield (Life Waxahachie) accounted for five total touchdowns and 403 total yards in a 55-35 home victory for the Life Waxahachie Mustangs against Athens on Friday. Following the game, his head coach, Heath Blalock, called the victory the first "signature win" for the Mustangs in several years. Mayfield completed 8-of-his-10 passes for 230 yards and three touchdowns, while also rushing 15 times for 173 yards and two more touchdowns. The Mustangs improved to 5-1 on the season and 1-0 in 9-4A with the win.
Adrian Cisneros (Palmer) led the still-undefeated now-state-ranked Palmer Bulldogs to a 48-13 road victory Friday night against Mildred. Cisneros completed 8-of-his-10 passes for 261 yards and three touchdowns, while also adding six carries for 51 yards and two more scores. The win improved the Bulldogs, who enter the week ranked 10-th in the Dave Campbell's Football 3A poll, to 6-0 on the season and 3-0 in District 7-3A. This is the second time for Cisneros to find his name on the Ellis County Sports Sports Player of the Week poll.
The Midlothian Heritage offensive line is the first group nominated for the Ellis County Sports Sports Player of the Week poll. The group combined to bulldoze the Quinlan Ford front seven and allow three Jaguar ball carries to cross the 100-yard plateau. No member of the offensive was flagged for a single penalty either. As a team, the Jaguars rushed 29 times for 505 yards (17.4 YPC) on Thursday at home in the 51-13 District 9-4A win. Latray Miller (7-137, TD), Cedric West (8-121, TD) and Cullen Stone (6-109, TD) all rushed for 100 or more yards during the win, while Daelin Rader (3-90, TD) just missed the mark.
CJ Palmer (Red Oak) once again set the tone for the Red Oak offense in a monumental 48-13 victory against Dallas Kimball on Friday. The senior running back carried the football 24 times for 189 yards and two touchdowns. His efforts on the ground allowed the Red Oak defense to remain rested on the sideline and ultimately hold Kimball to negative-17 rushing yards on 16 attempts. The victory improved Red Oak to 5-1 on the season and 3-0 in District 6-5A. It also moved the Hawks four wins — against a favorable schedule — away from winning an outright district championship for the first time in 37 years. This marks the third time for Palmer to be nominated as the Ellis County Sports Sports Player of the Week.
