Game of the Week: Red Oak travels to South Oak Cliff

The Red Oak Hawks travel to John Kincaide Stadium in Dallas to face reigning District 6-5A champion South Oak Cliff on Friday.

Though the game is the district opener for both football teams, it will very likely decide which program will end the regular season as the 2019 district champion.

PREVIOUS MEETING

The Bears edged the Hawks 31-21 at Billy Goodloe Stadium in Red Oak to open the 2018 district slate.

ABOUT THE BEARS

South Oak Cliff squeaked by Dallas Skyline in week one, 22-21, and was then blown out by 6A Divison-I state finalist Duncanville, 59-3.

The Bears then handily defeated Wilmer-Hutchins this past week, 61-0.

Rodd Hudson III (No. 6) leads the Bears offense with 159 yards and one touchdown through the air on 12-of-39 passing this season. He has also thrown two interceptions while adding a team-best 223 yards and one score on 28 carries.

Mikeviun Titus (No. 10) has completed 8-of-his-13 passes for 102 yards. He has also rushed 26 times for 101 yards and one touchdown.

Cam Davis (No. 25) leads all SOC running backs with 25 carries for 178 yards and a team-best three touchdowns.

Donajaz Dunn (No. 5) is the Bears leading receiver with five catches for 116 yards, while Demarco Moon (No. 4) has five catches for 76 yards and one touchdown.

Ra’Kuwan Pinkston (No. 9) leads the SOC defense with 31 total tackles (25 solo) and 7 tackles for loss. Jai Jones (No. 7) boasts 23 total tackles and three tackles for loss.

As a team, the Bears defensive unit has 36 tackles for loss on the season, which includes 11 sacks. Pinkston leads the group with three sacks.

Courtline Flowers (No. 2) has a team-best two interceptions.
